Training course with your horse - 25 hrs

•  10 hours of theory (4 online meetings)
• 12 hours of field practice (exercises filmed with your horse)
• 3 hours of follow-up after viewing the recorded exercises
• The exact schedule is established according with the availability of
  the participants.

•  Acquire knowledge in equine cognitive ethology
• Recognize the different psychological states of the horse through its
  physical postures
• Understand stress management in horses
• Assess a horse’s temperament
• Discover how horses learn
• Apply equine behaviour interventions to obtain a calm and relaxed
  horse
• Develop the know-how to better communicate with horses (at liberty
  and in proximity with physical communication)
• Learn intervention strategies for commonly encountered behavioural
  problems

*The content of this program is based on the most recent scientific data
on equine behaviour, considering the realities of domestication.

First session:

The first meeting takes place in a virtual classroom and allows the
horse owner to discuss the current situation with his\her horse, and the
goals s\he would like to achieve. In addition to developing one or more
intervention strategies related to the situation and the living conditions
of the horse, this first class also gives important information on
ethology that will be used for the entire duration of the program.

Second session:

Following the recommendations of the first meeting, the second makes
it possible to complete the psychological evaluation of the horse
necessary to choose strategies for future interventions. In addition,
notions of stress management will be addressed with exercises to be put
into practice.

Third session:

While continuing to monitor the behaviour of the horses being treated,
this meeting addresses notions of communication during activities in
proximity commonly done with the horse. To this effect, exercises will
have to be carried out to ensure the quality of monitoring.

Fourth session:

This last meeting allows us to get a clear updated view of the situation initially encountered with the horse, as well as teaching the different
principles at work when horses are learning.
