develop the knowledge and skills necessary to intervene in situations of
problematic behaviours. You can use this certification for professional
purposes, or simply in your personal dealings with horses.

The Equine Behaviour Practitioner – Level I training is our most
comprehensive course, both in terms of content and in terms of the
diversity of our teachers. It is divided into three sections:
Section 1 : Ethology
Designed and presented by Hélène Roche, an ethologist specializing in
the popularization of science in equine behaviour, this section provides
notions of equine ethology necessary to understand the horse. In
addition, essential notions such as the social life of the horse in its
natural state, its time budget, as well as the well-being of our horses
and ponies, are discussed. With Ms. Roche, you will have the most up-
to-date scientific knowledge on equine behaviour!

Section 2 : Neuroscience
Designed and presented by Dr. Sophie Côté, psychologist and expert in therapeutic reconsolidation of memory in humans and animals, this component focuses on understanding the neuroscience behind the effectiveness of therapeutic intervention in equine behavior. Dr. Côté teaches the basics of therapeutic reconsolidation of memory in animals, enabling us to grasp the profound impact of interventions on emotional memory, in order to achieve a truly transformative change that alters the patterns underlying equine behaviors and psychological states.

Section 3 : Intervention protocols
Designed and presented by Sandy Letarte, Equine Technician and expert in equine neuropsychotherapy, this section concerns the practical application
of various equine behaviour intervention protocols to prevent and
resolve behavioural problems. With more than 25 years of work in equine
behaviour, Ms. Letarte is concerned with applying the results of
scientific research in equine behaviour in her practice and contributing
to its advancement.
